Win the latest collection of luxury crystal stemware from Cumbria Crystal

cumbriaCumbria Crystal, the sole remaining producers of hand-blown and hand-cut full lead English crystal, are offering Period Homes & Interiors readers the exclusive chance to win a collection of luxury crystal stemware worth £666. One lucky reader can win a full collection of six red wine goblets and a carafe from Cumbria Crystal’s handcrafted Six Collection. The Six Collection is a mix of six styles of contemporary glass designs matched to make one unique collection of stemware. The designs are fresh, eclectic and original, using the traditional handblown and cutting techniques for which Cumbria Crystal is renowned.

Katy Holford, who uniquely is both the designer and Managing Director of Cumbria Crystal, explains, ‘The inspiration from the Six Collection came from sitting around the dinner table with a group of my friends.

Each individual is unique and beautiful, but bound together by the common bonds of friendship. ‘Six is also a play on words. The making of lead crystal is an art. To make a single glass, there are six individual processes, each step completed by a highly skilled craftsman. From blowing to cutting, every step is done by hand, creating a glass of superb clarity and an artisan finish.’ Cumbria Crystal takes pride in working with traditional techniques founded in hundreds of years of glassmaking history, while developing these skills and designing for the 21st century. No automated or overseas production is even considered.

Cumbria Crystal makes all the glassware for the British embassies and residencies, and their retail partners are Fortnum & Mason, Thomas Goode, Mulberry Hall and Liberty. The business also makes special commissions for interior designers, luxury yachts and top end hotels with handmade cut crystal.
